To begin the work, we had one of our team members attend the site after initial contact was made to carry out a full survey of the stand and the area. It was at this point that a net installation was confirmed to be the correct route to go down in this case, to successfully combat the issue of the feral pigeons.
A full survey was carried out, which included measurements of the site and stand, identification of access points, identification of secure points for attachments and supports, a full set of photographs, and risk assessment.

Solutions Implemented
The full stand canopy as 60m x 11m, and so a 50mm black net was installed. Amongst the net itself, twenty-three 2m zips, along with twelve 1m zips, were installed throughout. This was to ensure easy access to the sound and lighting electrics within the stand without damaging the net in any way.

Are Bird Droppings A Health Hazard?
Bird droppings can be incredibly dangerous to human health, as they carry more than 60 diseases, including Psittacosis, Salmonella, and Histoplasmosis. Bird waste can also be a slip hazard, as they make surfaces difficult to walk on, so it’s important that they are removed promptly by professionals.
Why Are There Pigeon Droppings On Your Property?
Pigeons and other birds will relieve themselves whenever they need to, whether they are in flight or sitting on a building. While you might find some bird guano on your property from birds flying overhead, a large amount of it is more common if you have birds roosting or nesting on or near your property.
Can You Remove Bird Droppings Yourself?
It is not advisable to clean bird guano yourself, as you need the appropriate personal protective equipment to ensure that you don’t breathe in dried droppings. Also, bird dropping removal requires the right cleaning solutions to ensure that every trace of bacteria is gone, and then the hazardous waste needs to be disposed of correctly. That’s why working with experts like LPPC Environmental is the best solution for getting rid of bird droppings.
